PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS CLASSIFIED MATERIALS CONTROL CENTER OFFICER, HEADQUARTERS BATTERY, 3D LOW ALTITUDE AIR DEFENSE BATTALLION, MARINE AIR CONTROL GROUP, 3D MARINE AIRCRAFT WING, MARINE FORCES PACIFIC FROM 2 OCTOBER 2003 TO 25 DECEMBER 2003. DURING THIS PERIOD, MASTER SERGEANT ROCK PERFORMED AS A CLASSIFIED MATERIALS CONTROL CENTER OFFICER IN A MANNER THAT DRAMATICALLY INCREASED EFFICIENCY. THROUGH A COMPLETE RESTRUCTURING OF THE CLASSIFIED MATERIALS CONTROL CENTER, HE RAISED THE CENTER'S RATING FROM UNSATISFACTORY TO MISSION CAPABLE IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS.   MASTER SERGEANT ROCK'S DISTINCTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PROFESSIONALISM, AND STEADFAST DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.



PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER, JOINT FORCES COMMAND, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA FROM 12 APRIL 2006 TO 15 JANUARY 2007.   DURING THIS PERIOD, MASTER SERGEANT MAELSTROM, WHILE MAINTAINING HIS REGULAR DUTIES, LED A TEAM IN THE ENGINEERING OF PHYSICAL AND INFORMATION ASSURANCE SECURITY CONTROLS NECCESSARY FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE DISA HEADQUARTERS.   BY UTILIZING HIS EXPERTISE AND LEADERSHIP IN THE DESIGN AND PROTECTION OF THE NEW DISA FACILITY, MORE THAN TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS IN OUTSOURCING COSTS WAS SAVED.  MASTER; SERGEANT MAELSTROM'S INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND ARE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED NAVAL SERVICE.



PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS YEOMAN CLERK AT THE NAVAL RESERVE CENTER, JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA FROM 24 MARCH 2005 TO 25 SEPTEMBER 2005. SEAMAN MUNCHEN DISTINGUISHED HIMSELF BY REFERRING SEVEN INDIVIDUALS WHO ENLISTED AS MEMBERS OF THE NAVAL RESERVE. THESE ENLISTMENTS WERE AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE OVERALL READINESS OF THE NAVAL RESERVE AND THE DEFENSE OF THE NATION. SEAMAN MUNCHEN'S PROFESSIONAL SKILL, INITIATIVE, AND DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND IS IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.



For superior achievement in the performance of her duties while serving as Reactor Controls Leading Petty Officer for the nuclear propulsion section, Engineering Division, aboard the USS BAINBRIDGE (DDG 96) from 15 Februray to 15 June 1999, while deployed with the Fifth Fleet to the Persian Gulf, North Arabian Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz. Petty Officer Johnson's extraordinary performance had a significant impact on the successful participation in operation SOUTHERN WATCH as well as the effective execution of Maritime Intercept Operations in the Arabian Gulf under the control of the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command. Displaying notable initiative, leadership, and dedication to duty as a nuclear propulsion specialist, Petty Officer Johnson authoritatively guided her workcenter through a challenging and prolonged deployment and a successfull trans-Atlantic crossing. Petty Officer Johnson's exemplary performance was recognized and praised by the Engineering Division, which found no significant discrepancies with any program under her watch. Petty Officer Johnson's professionalism, initiative and enduring devotion to duty reflected great credit upon herself and her ship and is in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.



PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HER DUTIES AS BUILDER FOR NAVAL MOBILE CONSTRUCTION BATTALION TWENTY-ONE FROM 12 APRIL 2004 TO 27 MAY 2004. DISPLAYING EXCEPTIONAL SKILL, RESOURCEFULNESS AND INITIATIVE, SHE ORGANIZED AND SUPERVISED THREE PROJECTS FOR NAVAL RESERVE CENTER (NRC), HAWAII FROM INCEPTION TO COMPLETION. HER EXEMPLARY EFFORTS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CREW WORK FORCE, OBTAINING MATERIALS, AND SCHEDULING OF WORK WENT BEYOND THE CALL OF A JUNIOR PETTY OFFICER. HER INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND EFFORTS HAVE RESULTED IN THE SAVING OF OVER $20,000 IN LABOR AND MATERIALS. PETTY OFFICER HENRIETTA JONES' PROFESSIONALISM AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
