July 12, 2005 - Capcom's ambitious adventure game, Killer 7, has only barely just debuted for GameCube and PlayStation 2, but the publisher has already teamed with designers X-Plus and Kinetic Underground to create figures and even a resin statue based on characters from the title. The companies are also developing a Killer 7 comic book series, which is set to premiere in final form next January. (A preview of the comic was distributed to gamers who pre-ordered the title at select retailers.)

IGN contacted Kinetic Underground's president David Forrest for information on the products. It turns out that the Killer 7 figures and statue are set to be shown and even sold at Comic Con 2005, which kicks off later this week in San Diego.

Kinetic Underground will showcase a limited edition Dan Smith blood red resin statue at the start of Comic Con, according to Forrest. The resin statues, sculpted by Paul Harding, will be in short supply; the designer will only manufacture 50-100 pieces. The price for each statue will be $100 and sculptor Harding will be on hand at Comic Con to sign some of them. Readers can download pictures of the statue from concept to finished product in our media section below.

Meanwhile, Kinetic plans to release three or four series of Killer 7 figures, each delivering collectors a handful of new characters. "Series 1 will be Dan Smith, Kaede Smith, Mask de Smith and Kun Lan," explains Forrest. "Series 2 has not been determined, but I want to have a mix of main characters with the Heaven Smile, possibly Ayame and maybe a spirit or two." Kinetic has not yet set a release date or price point for the figures.
