Zombie alert level now orange

As if zombie fans needed another reason to get all excited about brain-eating, decaying flesh bags... Resident Evil 5 is almost ready to get gory on your butt.

If you haven't already played it, the RE5 demo is currently available on XBL. Go forth and download.

In the meantime, we've got some images from the game (after the jump) to whet your appetite (for brains) and a rundown of what you can expect to see when the game releases on March 13 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Chris Redfield, Resident Evil hero at large, is back. He's joined a new org and pops up in an African city where the latest bioterrorism threat is turning people and animals into mindless, maddened creatures. He's not alone in the good fight though: His new partner, Sheva Alomar, pitches in with strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills. Together, they've gotta discover the truth behind this eeeeevil plot.

Capcom is promising a "revolutionary new co-op mode of gameplay," that lets you control either Chris or Sheva. Thanks to true HD gaming and Capcom's proprietary game engine, MT Framework, you'll be as spooked in daylight as you were by the shadows in previous games.
