While I started a similar thread about this before, I cannot find it in the archives, so I shall start this one with this link:

Afghanistan was always a worthy cause, not Iraq.
Sweden is in Afghanistan not because of the US, but because of a UN mandate.
NATO must remain in Afghanistan until threats to Afghanistan are neutralised. Unfortunately this is not expected to happen anytime soon, since the Al-Qaeda and Taleban continue to re-group from Pakistan and launch attacks on Afghanistan.
It is extremely important that events in Pakistan are monitored, since Pakistan seems to be common denominator for attacks on Indian Kashmir as well as Afghanistan. |

"...most destructive, pointless.." That's IRAQ, not Afghanistan. You should have turned left at the Gulf, not right. NATO will stay as long as the USA tells it to stay. NATO is a well-trained hound, unlike the UN. Have you heard about the neo-cons latest attempt to manage the New World Order? The creation of suitable, hand-picked democratic nations for inclusion in the Coalition of Democracies which will by-pass the UN and enforce regime change on any nation where the gov't is not up to the USA Grade AAA stndards. The USA is concerned that there is a regression to non-democratic gov'ts around the world & will do all it can to reverse that trend, if it gets enough assistance from it's hand-puppets, er, hand-picked allies. First insufficiently democratic nation to be named? Venezuela, never mind that the citizen's elected the gov't & the gov't accepted a rejection of their plebicite re terms of office, Chavez must go! Strangely no mention was made of regime change in North Korea, Zimbabwe, China, Russia or evan Cuba or Iran. So what determines if a nation will receive the benefits of regime-change? Judged to be insufficiently democratic by the USA standard, has oil reserves, small, out-dated military, no nuclear capabilities, HMMM? Canada had better watch out if it ever elects a Liberal gov't again! |

How many soldiers does Sweden have in Afganistan? How many deaths so far? I thought they only had a few hundred hanging out in the quiet areas with the other cowards... |

Just more irrelevant, empty ranting, some of it about me.
I have not confused Iraq with Afghanistan, as Coalbanks goes on to show, and Sweden's participation in the NATO force in Afghanistan allows other countries' troops, especially those of the USA and the UK, to be killed.
And why no discussion of the article I linked? Too much fun just attacking me? |
