A more centrally located conference site than Katuaq is hard to find. The closest neighbours are Greenland's government and parliament building and Nuuk's town council hall, as well as Hotel Nuuk. The town centre is only a hundred metres away with many of the town's major shops, souvenir shops, Hotel Hans Egede and the town's restaurants. Nuuk's old "colony harbour" (Kolonihavnen) quarter contrasts with the modern town centre and is only a few minutes walk to the west. With a beautiful view of the fjord and an abundance of birds, seals and whales, and encircled by beautiful mountains with the oldest rocks in the world, you will find the National Museum, the Kayak and Fur Room and "Braettet", a market stall where fresh fish and game are sold.

Katuaq organises concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions, lectures, conferences, seminars and large-scale conferences. The conference department hosts local, national and international conferences. Since many different arrangements are possible including a cinema arrangement, up to 508 persons can be accommodated. Katuaq also houses Cafétuaq which can seat 100 café guests. Since Katuaq cooperates with Hotel Hans Egede on conferences, booking is available via Hotel Hans Egede.
