- An agile and powerful forward, Adriano counts exceptional ball control among his many talents.
- World champion with the Brazilian Under-17 team in 1999, it took Adriano just eight minutes to win over the Nerazzurri fans: in his first appearance in black and blue, the striker scored against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy in 2001.
- Back his native country, Adriano scored after just five minutes on his debut for Flamengo and in the same match made three assists for his team-mates.
- Like former Inter forward Ronaldo, Adriano grew up in the 'favelas' (shanty towns) in Rio de Janeiro.
