I got last week from a seller in California some old videocards. After a time scanning the internet, i found out that it is a testing board!
http://firingsquad.com/hardware/s3update/page2.asp
This GPU was used only for notebooks!
Iīm not sure if this card is working,I will test it perhaps in a few days but I donīt know what kind of mainboard I can use for this test?!

Here my pictures:

Nice card. It looks as common AGP 4x device so you can use a motherboard equipped widh an AGP 1.5V slot.

Bye Bye

No Way!I forget this thread completely.
I tested this card a few weeks ago on a ASUS CUSL2 mainboard.
After installing some S3 drivers I had a good 2D quality on the screen.
I ran some 3D-applications,like 3DMark 2001 and some other games, but after a short time the system freezed with strange artifacts or i could not start the game!
...so it is not possible to run a benchmark to the end.

I made some screens from the driver-menue:

...and here are some screenshots taken from a game which didnīt freeze so fast.

Hi Seba,

this card is a engineering sample so reading your reply I can't know if system crashes were caused by hardware errors or bad driver support of 3D functionalities or both.

So I write you: try to add a cooler on or near to graphics processor and to run games again. Please begin using titles that support some S3 cards of same generation and then, if pc becomes stable, execute again Colin McRae Rally or similar.

At last about video driver, I would install the latest final release developed by S3 for same generation cards of your own.

Let me know,

Bye bye

Oh there was heatsink while testing the card ,so it wasnīt a temperature error.
I also tested some other S3 drivers, but it had the same or worse problems.
I think there is an conflict on the card, like a too early bios or something like that ...consequently i have this errors with the "new" drivers.

But i can also test the card in another system, with a older verion of windows, far instance.
I will check the card once more the next days.
