Eric Ripert Book Signing at 10 Arts
Chef Eric Ripert is coming to Philly for a book signing at his restaurant 10 Arts. Guests will be invited to sample canapés from Ripert's renowned Le Bernardin, as well as a chance to meet/greet the Frenchman himself. South Jersey Restaurant Week
With close to 60 restaurants checking in for SJ Hot Chefs' biannual dining deal, eaters will have the opportunity to feast on everything from Thai to Japanese. Participating restaurants include Fuji in Haddonfield, Ritz Seafood in Voorhees, Tuscan Tavern in Clementon and Swanky Bubbles in Cherry Hill; each diner gets four courses for $35, and on top of that, participating restaurants will also include $10 gift certificates for a future visit. Vegan Drinks Philly at Horizons
Vegan Drinks, a nationwide social network for vegetarians/vegans, is coming to Philly next week. Due to the huge turnout at the inaugural local event (also held at Horizons), the restaurant's opening up its entire space to guests interested in tasting vegan beer from Philadelphia Brewing Co., spirits from Philadelphia Distilling and a low-priced app menu. Edible World Tour: Port Richmond
First Person Arts, in conjunction with the Inky's Rick Nichols, is hosting a tour of Port Richmond's Polish eateries. The food columnist will lead guests around a 12-block radius, hitting Szypula's Bakery, Syrenka Luncheonette, Krakus Market, New Wave Restaurant and more. Sample goulash, cherry babka, potato pancakes, pierogies, Lech beer and sauerkraut while sharing stories with the chefs behind the grub. ScrappleFest
Scrapple, that odd/delicious regional delicacy, gets the star treatment at RTM this Saturday. Vendors will hand out versions of the offal-based wonder, including vegan and (yes) chocolate renditions. There'll also be a recipe throwdown judged by chef/author Aliza Green, Rx chef Greg Salisbury, Laura Burkhardt of Where magazine and CP's own Drew Lazor.
