2009 South Pacific Games Chief Executive Officer David Lobb says more than 2000 athletes and officials are expected to turn up at the games.
The number also include those from the Cook Islands which according to Lobb would be about 180 athletes and 30 officials.
While some countries have indicated attending the games he said the deadline to confirm attendance is 28 December.
The Cook Islands will host the games.
