sorry i’ve read through some of this and i think it’s not very good. the art is amateurish and the story doesn’t seem to be saying anything important and for god’s sakes pick up richard starkings book on lettering. i hope this thing improves and evolves because a good LGBT comic is important, but where it is now is just bad.

    Hi There!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my comic and for commenting. While I agree that my art is amateurish (alas, I’m not much of an artist, though I try my bestest), and I agree my font-ing skills need work (in fact, there was a whole, long thread about this very subject on the site a few pages back), but I must humbly disagree with your assertion that an LGBT comic needs to say something “important.”

In my mind just the fact that my comic exists on such an awesome site like Newsarama is important enough. Why can’t a LGBT comic starring a gay character be fun, goofy, slightly cheesy, and heartfelt? And that’s it? I don’t feel the need to march in a parade in my personal life everyday and I don’t see the need for my little comic to preach a message. Just the fact that it exists on its own terms and doesn’t apologize for it’s use of homosexual characters is important. The best thing I can do as a budding LGBT comic creator is remain true to myself and to my story. And treat my story and my characters like any other humor/action/superhero comic. Do comics starring straight character have to say something important, or can they just be entertaining?

So thank you again for your time. Hopefully you will stick around and find the charm, love, and earnestness many others have found in my comic. If not, I’m thankful you gave it a look and sent me your feedback.
    Much love!

I am a HUGE fan of “So Super Duper!” I think it’s a fun read, and I thoroughly enjoy every issue. It’s light-hearted and queer, and is just a neat escape. And isn’t that the point of a good comic book?

    smoochies! JR
