The Premiership's youngest guns
Around the Academy:

The Premiership's stars just keep getting younger!
He may not be a Premiership star just yet, but Leeds United's young midfielder James Milner is already a record breaker.

At just 16 years 357 days old, Milner became the Premiership's youngest ever scorer in Leeds' 2-1 win over Sunderland on Boxing Day.

And considering that record had been set just two months previously by Everton's teenage terrier Wayne Rooney, Milner's got plenty to live up to.

But the pressure doesn't seem to be affecting the young star. Just two days after his first strike he was on target for Leeds again, scoring their second goal as they beat Chelsea 2-1.

With the Premiership's young stars going strong, the Academy looks back at the previous record holders.

Wayne Rooney (Everton)

Scored: October 19 2002
Age: 16 years 361 days
Against: Arsenal

Wayne Rooney is the striker that everyone's talking about - and the young Everton star has more than lived up to the hype.

Rooney's debut goal must have been a dream come true.

Wayne Rooney has taken the Premiership by storm
With the full-time whistle approaching and the match all-square, the 16-year-old hit a stunning 30-yard strike that flew into the top corner and won the match for the Toffees.

He has rarely been off the back pages since, but his red card against Birmingham on Boxing Day has put him under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Michael Owen (Liverpool)
Scored: May 6 1997
Age: 17 years 144 days
Against: Wimbledon

Liverpool's 'Boy Wonder' seems like a veteran compared to Rooney and Milner, but amazingly he's still only 23!

Owen's debut goal came against Wimbledon in 1997. Just 15 minutes after coming on as a sub, he raced clear of the Dons defence and slid the ball past Neil Sullivan.

It was just a taste of things to come from the Liverpool number 10, whose incredible pace and power have made him a huge star all over the world.

Andy Turner (Tottenham)

Scored: September 5 1992
Age: 17 years 166 days
Against: Everton

You may not have heard of Andy Turner, but he made history in 1992 when he became the Premiership's youngest ever scorer.

His moment of fame came against Everton at White Hart Lane, but he only made 20 more appearances for Spurs before moving to Portsmouth.

And here's a blast from the past - this young lad beats them all...!

Jason Dozzell (Ipswich Town)

Scored:February 4 1984
Age:16 years 57 days
Against: Coventry

Jason Dozzell became the top flight's youngest ever scorer almost 19 years ago
Jason Dozzell remains the youngest scorer in the history of English top flight football.

He spent seven successful years at Portman Road before moving to Spurs, and also played for Northampton and Colchester.

Almost 19 years after his goal made history Dozzell is still playing - for non-League Canvey Island!
