PHNOM PENH, July 17 (Reuters) - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Thursday a border dispute with Thailand was "worsening" and he called for the immediate withdrawal of Thai troops and protesters from the area.

In a letter to Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, Hun Sen said the three-day stand-off at the disputed Preah Vihear temple was "very bad for relations between our two countries". (Reporting by Ek Madra; Writing by Darren Schuettler; Editing by David Fogarty)
