When the Saints' front office and coaching staff started breaking down the entire 2008 season, evaluating everyone and everything from top to bottom and start to finish, they came to the conclusion that they needed help at free safety.
Josh Bullocks and Kevin Kaesviharn didn't exactly distinguish themselves as the starters the last two seasons, which is why neither are Saints.
Because the free safety plays such an important role in the scheme run by new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the Saints went out and signed two wily veterans in Darren Sharper and Pierson Prioleau.
The length of their contracts, however, would suggest the Saints are still on the lookout for more help at that position.
