A Matty Fryatt brace and a last gasp goal from Lloyd Dyer helped Leicester City secure a dramatic 3-2 victory against Huddersfield Town at a windswept Galpharm Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The striker's eighth and ninth goals of the season helped put the Foxes two up in the second half but a spirited comeback from the home side which included goals from Gary Roberts and Liam Dickinson looked to have earned their side a share of the spoils.

But Dyer had other ideas and his 90th minute lob over the keeper sent the Blue Army into raptures and in the process kept City on top of the League One table.

The Foxes again started brightly and came close through Steve Howard inside 20 seconds, after good work by Kerrea Gilbert down the right hand channel.

A quick free-kick from Howard on eight minutes almost found strike partner Fryatt before Nicky Adams headed wide from Dyer's pin-point left wing cross.

The visitors should have opened the scoring on 12 minutes but after a neat one-two with Fryatt, Andy King dinked his effort over the advancing Matt Glennon, but somehow put the ball wide of the upright.

The Welsh Under-21 international drilled another shot wide from 20-yards in the 15th minute while Phil Jevons came close at the other end, after Aleksandar Tunchev missed his clearance.

Michael Flynn headed straight into arms of David Martin from Jevon's teasing cross from the left on 19 minutes.

The Terriers' pressure mounted and Liam Dickinson shot across goal three minutes later before Gilbert cleared as Gary Roberts looked to slot home the loose ball.

Captain Joe Worthington shot high and wide moments later then Gilbert was cautioned for a foul on Dickinson in the 27th minute.

Ian Craney shot just over from the left-hand angle on the half-hour mark but that was to be the last action he saw of the game as he left the field with a hamstring injury, being replaced by former Fox Danny Cadamarteri on 34 minutes.

Tunchev headed over at the back post from Adams' free-kick three minutes later before Glennon saved well from Fryatt after the striker had beaten the offside trap in the 39th minute and raced clear.

The Foxes continued to press before half-time and Glennon had to be alert to tip Fryatt's effort over the bar from Gilbert's low cross then Adams shot wide at the back post, with the ball just failing to come down for him.

At the other end, Dickinson headed well wide from Jevons' hanging centre on 42 minutes.

But after three minutes of stoppage time, the game remained goalless at half-time.

The home side were the first to show after the break as Flynn volleyed wide from 25-yards, but his effort failed to trouble Martin.

However, it was the visitors who took the lead on 50 minutes through Fryatt.

Adams did brilliantly down the right side, before playing in the marksman who composed himself before firing low past Glennon for the opener.

Martin punched clear under pressure soon after then Andy Butler headed over from Jim Goodwin's cross.

Cadamarteri shot high over the bar on the hour but the Foxes doubled their advantage in the 65th minute thanks to Fryatt's second of the game.

Goodwin was adjudged to have handled Dyer's cross from the left and Fryatt did the rest from the spot, sending Glennon the wrong way much to the delight of the Blue Army.

The Terriers immediately made a change with Keigan Parker coming on for Jevons on 66 minutes.

Martin brilliantly saved Robert's shot from close range soon after as the home side looked for a way back into the game.

However, the home side did pull a goal back in the 69th minute when Robert's deflected shot off Jack Hobbs wrong-footed Martin and flew into an empty net.

Howard was booked on 70 minutes then Cadamarteri followed suit two minutes later for a foul on Chris Powell.

Howard had a goal disallowed for offside moments later after King's shot was only parried by Glennon.

Roberts again came close in the 75th minute although Martin had the effort covered.

But the Terriers did equalise on 77 minutes when Dickinson climbed highest at the far post and headed home past Martin for the leveller.

Max Gradel replaced Adams in the 79th minute while Joe Skarz was booked on 84 minutes for fouling Gradel.

However, the Foxes nicked in it stoppage time when Fryatt found Dyer and he lifted the ball over Glennon for the winner.

Michael Morrison replaced Fryatt but City had done enough to record another priceless three points.
