Baylor softball team opens road to title at home

Waco's Getterman Stadium will host Baylor, Northwestern, Louisiana-Lafayetter and Texas State.

Baylor's attempt to reach its second softball Women's College World Series in three seasons will begin at home. The Lady Bears, one of seven Big 12 teams in the tournament, will open NCAA regional play in Waco as the second seed.

Texas, Baylor earn NCAA quarterfinals in tennis
No. 12 Texas defeated No. 5 Tennessee, 4-3, at the NCAA Championships and earned a quarterfinal date Saturday against fourth-seeded Georgia. The Bulldogs defeated UT in last year's title matchup.

Big 12 football coaches will consider changes to the conference's tiebreaker procedure today in Phoenix. The tiebreaker took on added importance last season, when Oklahoma made the Big 12 title game over South rivals Texas and Texas Tech by virtue of the BCS standings.
