How do you interface this with an Innovative catalog?

@jones:
The documentation is lagging behind the code, but…
After installing Scriblio activate the Scriblio III Importer plugin. Go to Manage > Import > Scriblio III Importer. And follow the steps as they appear in these screenshots: http://flickr.com/photos/scriblio/sets/72157603031251442/

I’ve been approached by a community of bibliophiles who want to share their personal collections online. Rather that have them catalogue their books/DVDs/CDs individually, it would be nice for them to be able to search the worldcat records Scriblio is based on and click ‘add to my collection’. I can then build the system so they can share their media with one another accordingly.
Can I use Scriblio’s database for this do you think?

Hi, I am trying to import records from my catalogue into Scriblio and I am unable to do so. Could this be because I do not have III’s XML Server installed?
Thanks a lot.

Will this work with asp? We use SirsiDynix, but it’s an off site application. They host our catalog and we access it over the net. Patrons don’t know the difference. Point is—we don’t actually house content on our servers.

Hey guys,
I’m doing some volunteer work for a child counselling place.
They have about 500 books and need them catalogued and want an electronic borrowing system (at the moment they are using a book)
I’ve found some free software like Koha and Greenstone, but it’s too complicated…I’m after something really simple.
Scriblio sounds great - but not sure if it has a borrowing feature (circulation)…if not, any recommendations

Hi,
I, like John T, am looking for a system that will allow electronic borrowing capabilities. I am administering a new academy and would love to allocate library info to a student record when borrowing needs to happen…also when distributing textbooks…any ideas? I am using “moodle” for student management and Drupal as our main CMS. Any help to make this aspect more efficient would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

why function posts_where($query) in scriblio.php is needed?
to exclude ‘catalog_author_id’? coz i got empty author_id in wp-admin/edit.php page, and no post is found. See SQL below:
return( AND post_author AND wp_posts.post_type = ‘post’ AND (wp_posts.post_status = ‘publish’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘future’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘draft’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘pending’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘private’)

Hello,
My collegue and I have been doing research for next generation OPAC and its implementation into
Japanese library systems.
Also we are planning to write an article about it as an achievement of our research. The journal will be issued on fall 2008.
As the result of our research, we are very interested in Scriblio as one of the best next generation OPACs in both commercial and free sources. Especially making it possible to search individual aritcles is really remarkable.
Therefore please allow us to introduce your OPAC with using some images of those remarkable features
in our article.
I cannot attach them here so that I really appreciate how we should obtain your permission.
We are looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks!

The next step is to make an content management system based ILS! I think some people are already working on this in Drupal. This is completely possible and would offer incredible flexibility.

I’m interested in learning more about Scriblio. I have a few questions and hoping someone will be able to answer:
1. Does it display in English and French?
2. Does it display in MARC format?
3. Does it provide ranking?
4. Does it support OpenURL link resolver?
5. Searches on what fields?
6. Are we able to use the interface whilst new recoreds are being input/indexed?
7. Does it provide active links for linking fields (MARC 856)?
8. Is it able to determine availability (link with ILS)?
Thank you!

When load the marc file, the following error is shown.:
“Unable to create directory /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server”.
(Even though we had already create “uploads” folder and chmod to 777 for the folder, the error still comes out)
Is there any suggestion to solve the problem? thanks!
