Turner: Planning for next season

Hartlepool have decided to release five members of their first-team squad at the end of their contracts.

Arran Lee-Barrett and Jan Budtz are two of those deemed surplus to requirements at Victoria Park.

Full-back Jamie McCunnie and youngsters Joe Tait and Martin Young have also been allowed to move on by director of sport Chris Turner.

Midfielder Ritchie Jones will be staying with Pools, though, after taking up the offer of a new deal.

Gary Liddle, Michael Mackay, Andy Monkhouse, Michael Nelson, Matty Robson and Matty Tymon have also been offered extensions.

Decisions on the future of injured duo Willie Boland and Rune Lange will be made later this summer, with the club's medical staff continuing to monitor their situation.
