«Kavkaz-Center» Terrorist Website Located in Estonia
The Russian Ministry for Foreign Affairs expects Estonian authorities to do away with the website of Chechen terrorists and radical separatists of «Kavkaz-Center». «We addressed to Estonian authorities with the question whether their allowance to place a website of Chechen terrorists would somehow favor good relations with Russia», said a spokesman of the Russian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. «We hope that Estonian people at power, who have already demonstrated their readiness for fight against international terrorism, will take appropriate measures to close a hostile to Russia website on their territory. Lithuanian authorities understood that placing of the Kavkaz-Center on a Lithuanian server do not promote state reputation and cannot better the Russian-Lithuanian relationship», noted the spokesman.
The «Kavkaz-Center» website was located on a Lithuanian server till mid-April. Then it moved to an Estonian server, supplied by the Starman Internet. Head of the Starman’s department for marketing Henry Treide confirmed last Wednesday that the site’s IP-name of www.kavkazcenter.com really referred to Starman: «Our customer presents his services as usual and our firm cannot restrict it in any way. They just rent some of our server space and an IP-name». The firm does not disclose the name of the customer. Previously the «Kavkaz-Center» website was located on a Lithuanian server, served by the Microlink Data firm. Microlink gave no comments on the Chechen website’s removal and a firm’s official said the appropriate agreement had expired. The «Kavkaz-Center» moved to a Microlink Data’s server at the beginning of the current year.
