HTP Innovation Complex Opens in the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics

On April 9, 2009 the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics hosted the opening ceremony of Joint Educational, Scientific and Innovation Complex. The complex was jointly established by EPAM Systems and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics under support of Belarus Hi-Tech Park.

The complex consists of 3 labs, teaching staff rooms and storage premises. In the labs of the opened center two types of classes will be held on a regularly basis: the classes within the academic curriculum of the university as well as advanced optional classes developed by the leading specialists of HTP Belarus.

The opening ceremony welcomed a number of distinguished participants such as Director of the Administration of Belarus Hi-Tech Park Mr. Valery Tsepkalo, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Alexander Zhuk, CEO and President of EPAM Systems Mr. Arkadiy Dobkin.

Mr. Valery Tsepkalo, Director of Belarus Hi-Tech Park Administration noted:
“The opening of the Scientific and Innovation Complex jointly established by EPAM and BSUIR once again demonstrates that role which Belarus Hi-Tech Park plays in involving IT-companies in the activities of educational institutions. For a university it is a way to improve the material and technical basis, students get prospects of future employment with a prestigious IT-company, IT-companies invest in their future employees, and for the nation it is a way to develop the creative and innovation potential of the youth.”

Belarus Hi-Tech Park stimulates the process of involvement of IT-companies in the implementation of educational programs in the framework of activities targeted at the improvement of training and retraining of Belarusian IT-specialists. Labs, jointly established by HTP resident companies and universities, successfully operate in Minsk (Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University), Mogilev (Belarusian-Russian University), Gomel (Gomel Fr. Skaryna State University), Vitebsk (P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University), Grodno (Grodno State University) and other national institutions of higher education.

The newly-established Educational And Scientific Innovation Complex is a significant contribution of Belarus Hi-Tech Park to the improvement of the quality of training of the national newly-graduated IT-specialists.
