Mika Chunuonsee capped a man of the match performance by scoring his first goal for the club after 15 minutes and Daniel Lancey on his debut scored the second just before the interval to give us the three points against Ton Pentre.

Carl Payne was involved in our early exchanges picking up a loose ball making ground into the area but his shot was blocked. He again picked up a loose ball and found Ian Jones on the edge of the area, Ian played in Mark Jones but he had strayed offside. Carl then got booked on the half way line and from the free kick Ton had their first chance but shot wide. 

We continued to have the better of the early exchanges and Michael Waters went on a 40 yard run but his cross was cut out by the defence. Ian Turner then fed Mika Chunuonsee who made ground and played the ball to Mark Jones on the edge of the area, Mark dummied the defender and left him for dead but the ball just ran through to the keeper before Mark could get to it. Ton now came into the game and there was an almighty scramble in our area and somehow we cleared the ball off the line.

Then on 15 minutes we took the lead, Mark Jones was fouled just outside the area and Mika Chunuonsee took the free kick, he hit it low just inside the left hand post with the Ton keeper struggling to get across to save. Ton then had a period of pressure which produced a couple of corners, from the first they shot over the crossbar, the second we again blocked a goalbound shot and cleared for another corner. We cleared this corner but when the ball was played back in, Leon Cosker came for the ball and didn't make it and the ball was headed in. Ton's joy turned to despair however when the linesman flagged for offside. Just after the twenty minute mark Daniel Lancey cut in from the left and crossed, several players got into the six yard box, the keeper flapped at the cross but luck was on his side as no-one had held back in case of this happening.

Just after the half hour Carl Payne made ground down the right and cross was just cut out by the defence, the ball was played back in and Mark Jones turned the edge of the box shot across the keeper but just wide of the far post. On 39 minutes we had a bizarre moment, Ian Jones went around the keeper appeared to be touched and went down, the ref waved play on and when the ball next went out of play he booked Ian for diving. Mika Chunuonsee beat a defender wide right and crossed just ahead of both Mark and Ian Jones and the chance was lost. The second goal came on 43 minutes when a Mark Jones cross just beat Ian Jones but reached Daniel Lancey beyond the far post, Daniel shot low back across the goal, the ball hitting the inside of the post before nestling in the net.

We had the wind in the second half and Corey Thomas shot from outside the box the ball bouncing in front of the keeper who managed to hold it at the second attempt. Ton attacked and won a corner, Leon Cosker made an instinctive save off the incoming header to keep us two up. Mika Chunuonsee then played the ball forward to Mark Jones who reached the ball just inside the goal line, he shot, the keeper making an excellent diving save to deny Mark. Daniel Lancey then played a ball forward to Mark Jones who shot straight at the keeper from the edge of the area. Leon Cosker then held a Ton free kick and threw the ball out to Michael Waters who beat 5 players in a 50 yard run before finally losing the ball, we won it back and it was Ian Jones's turn to shoot straight at the keeper, again from a good position. With just over a quarter of an hour to go the Ton keeper again saved from Mark Jones, and a flowing Lido attack involving 5 players saw Corey Thomas volley the ball from the edge of the area but once again straight at the keeper. 

With 10 minutes to go Ian Turner lost the ball just inside our half and Ton were unlucky when Ryan Shugar's shot from just outside the area flew inches wide with Cosker beaten. We seemed intent on giving Ton a goal as we again lost the ball but luckily this time the resultant shot flew over the bar. With 3 minutes to go Scott McCoubrey won the ball and fed Michael Waters who toyed with the defence before slipping the ball to Mark Jones who from 8 yards clipped the crossbar.
