Cowboys Stadium

Staff -- Texas Contractor, 3/6/2006

An Arlington Fair Share Agreement which encourages "joint ventures" with Arlington-based minority and women business enterprises (M/WBE) has prompted a strategic alliance among three respected construction companies for construction of the new Cowboys stadium complex. The "strategic alliance" of Manhattan Construction, Rayco Construction and 3i Construction will serve as the construction management team.

With 110 years of experience building large projects, including Reliant Stadium in Houston and Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Manhattan will lead the alliance.

Rayco Construction, founded in 1980 by Ray Gomez, has participated in numerous major construction projects across the southwest for Southwestern Bell, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and federal, state and local government agencies. Ray Gomez, president of Rayco Construction, is an active board member of the Arlington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

3i Construction was the first African American construction management firm to build a $10.8-million contract from the ground up for the Dallas Independent School District. They are also working with JE Dunn on over $53 million in ongoing work for the DISD. Mike Williams, president of 3i Construction, is an active member of the Arlington African American Chamber of Commerce and the Black Contractors Association.
