Neal Bishop today put pen-to-paper on his pre-contract agreement with Notts County and revealed: "I'm very impressed with what I've seen."

Bishop was at Meadow Lane this afternoon to get a feel for his new surroundings and signed all the paperwork which will see him officially become a Magpie on July 1.

The midfielder turned down the offer of a new contract with Barnet after leading them through a successful battle against relegation, and revealed that after hearing Ian McParland's plans for the Magpies he is convinced Meadow Lane is the place for him.

He said: "I spoke to the Manager and his Assistant and was impressed with them as people, as well as what they had to say. I liked the professional way they are looking to do things at Notts County and I quickly decided I wanted to be part of their plans.

"I'm delighted to sign and after speaking to one or two people in the game it seems this is a good place be."
