First drive: 2010 Toyota Prius

Toyota knows a thing or two about building hybrids — the automaker has sold more than a million of its benchmark Prius sedans worldwide. Things aren’t quite so easy now in the hybrid marketplace, however, with others joining the green movement, so the bosses decided it would be prudent to make a good thing better.

Constable, Josh Hilton, firefighter Joe Paulson, and Constable, Mike O'Connor from Calgary City Police Traffic Education Unit stand on Northbound Crowchild Tr. in Calgary as a speeding truck passes them at 110 km/h to demonstrate the risks of a speeding vehicle going by while responding to roadside scenes, during a controlled demonstration. They did this to illustrate just how dangerous it can be on the side of the road.

2006 Lexus RX 330.

Used report: Lexus RX 330

Since its introduction in 1998, Lexus' RX crossover has been a success. The original was a rather staid piece, but time has seen it evolve into the segment leader. The introduction of the second-generation model in 2004 not only brought a stronger look, larger dimensions and a bigger engine that consumed less fuel, it also marked the first time a Lexus had been built outside of Japan.
