The Mountain Vista learning community is committed to providing quality, standards-based instruction in a safe environment that encourages students to develop academic and social skills that will help them to become productive citizens of the world.

Our Purpose

Mountain Vista Community School, built in 2005, is the newest addition to Harrison School District Two. Mountain Vista effectively combines pre-school through eighth grade students as a "choice school" for parents.

Parents and community members of Monntain Vista are an integral part of each child's education by actively being involved in his/her learning. Mountain Vista staff is dedicated to providing a nurturing and positive learning environment for all students.

Throughout the school year, Mountain Vista utilizes the school action plan as a means to focus efforts toward improving student achievement.  While there is still work to be done on raising student achievement, Mountain Vista students have made great gains in academic growth according to the Longitudinal Student Growth Model measurement used by the Colorado Department of Education.

Our Educators

The Mountain Vista staff is a committed group of educators who continually study the best instructional practices and go above and beyond to meet students' needs. Classroom teachers and administrators meet on a monthly basis to align curriculum, review student achievement data, make improvements and give feedback on the progress of various educational programs. Mountain Vista values high quality teachers, and offers many opportunities for professional development to all staff.
