Cost
The entry fee for the 2006 Magic: The Gathering® Vintage Championship is $15.00. Please note that admission to GEN CON is also required. Please visit www.gencon.com for more information.
Format
- Vintage Format
- No proxies of any kind are allowed
- Open to all players
Tournament Length
- Swiss rounds, 60 minutes per round
- Number of rounds based on attendance according to the following chart:

Advancement
- All players may participate in all Swiss rounds.
- The top-8 players after the final Swiss round will advance to the top-8 single-elimination finals.
Top- 8
- Top 8 matches will be best 2 of 3.
- Top 8 matches will have no time limit.
- Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.
Notes
- 48K, REL 4
- All Universal Tournament Rules and Magic: the Gathering Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this document
- Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.
Prizes
- All prize payouts will include Italian Legends
- Winner receives Alternate Art Framed “Mox Pearl” trophy, plus 48 boosters
- Second through Eighth Place each receive 48 boosters,
- Ninth through Sixteenth Place each receive 36 boosters,
- Seventeenth through Thirty-Second Place each receives 18 boosters.

1PM Thursday: August 10th – Vintage Championship
$6 Straight Swiss rounds based on attendance. No single elimination.

5PM Friday: August 11th – Vintage Championship Prelim
$6 Swiss rounds based on attendance with a top-8 single elimination.
First Place wins a 2-round bye at the 2006 Vintage Championship.

10PM Friday: August 11th – Vintage Championship
$6 Straight Swiss rounds based on attendance. No single elimination.

5PM Saturday: August 12th – Vintage Tournament
$6 Straight Swiss rounds based on attendance. No single elimination.

11:30PM Saturday: August 12th – $500 Vintage Tournament
$10.50 Swiss rounds based on attendance with a top-8 single elimination.

12PM Sunday: August 13th – Vintage Tournament
$6 Straight Swiss rounds based on attendance. No single elimination.
