with links to photographs and detailed information on each species.

venomous snakes. It includes personal accounts from
survivors
of Taipan bite.
The story of the discovery,
'loss' and rediscovery nearly a century later
of the Western Taipan
is told here by

Covacevich, Queensland Museum curator, who played a significant
role in the rediscovery.
At the Museum looks behind the scenes at
the life saving work
of the Museum in collecting and studying snakes, and shows how a
snake skeleton display was made.
In the South East lists the diverse
range of species found in
the greater Brisbane area, including the sea snakes of Moreton Bay, and the many
harmless species, some of which can be found in inner Brisbane.
