  • Plot: EU’s LIFE NATURE Programme has launched a big project in order to save the majestic bird of the Hungarian „Puszta”.
  • Summary:

    Of all nature conservancy projects running in Hungary, the biggest is trying to save the great bustard from extinction. This once abundant bird was decimated by hunters and effetcs of extensive agriculture. During the last century its population have decreased from a 13.000 to a mere 1.200 specimen. Still, Hungary holds the strongest bustard population of Eastern Europe. Recently EU’s LIFE NATURE Programme has launched a big project in order to save the majestic bird of the Hungarian „Puszta”. In the film a young TV reporter goes out to the field in order to talk with park rangers, hunters, farmers all working on the conservation of the Great Bustard.
