About Us

Perspective is five minutes of expert commentary by opinion-makers from Australia and overseas.

These thought provoking, stimulating and challenging contributions to ideas in Australia follow in the slipstream of recent Radio National series like the Barton, Deakin, Reith and Boyer lectures which have all drawn a big response from Radio National listeners.

Paul Barclay

Paul Barclay is a Walkley-award winning broadcaster and journalist with ABC Radio National. For the past six and a half years he has been Executive Producer of Australia Talks Back. He also regularly deputises as presenter of ATB, in the absence of Sandy McCutcheon. When circumstances permit, Paul makes radio documentaries for Radio National’s Background Briefing. Over the years he has acted as Program Director at 612 ABC Brisbane (then 4QR), written for Rolling Stone magazine - among other publications - presented current affairs program for ABC Local Radio in Northern Territory & Brisbane, and produced countless stories for many programs on most ABC Radio networks.

Sue Clark

Sue Clark has a long and involved history in community and public broadcasting. She joined the ABC in 1997 after having spent many years with SBS Radio. The legacy of that time is that she can swear and/or seduce you in many different languages and that once "real" football is in your blood it never goes away.

Between broadcasting engagements Sue wrote an education package for NSW High Schools on HIV/AIDS and surrounding issues. She has spoken extensively on the subject throughout NSW and was invited to speak at National and International Conferences on grief and HIV/AIDS. Her greatest and most enduring claim to fame, however, is that she was named "champion" in her second grade staring competition.
