Kim Wyman Auditor

Kim Wyman has served as Thurston County Auditor since January 2001.  Kim is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University in Alabama.  Kim is a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA) through Auburn University and the Election Center as well as a Washington State Certified Election Administrator through the Office of the Secretary of State.

Kim is involved with various civic organizations.  She serves as the Immediate Past President of the Washington State Association of County Auditors and is a member of the Lacey Rotary Club.  As a past president the United Way of Thurston County she serves on several committees and is on the Women’s Leadership Council Steering Committee.  Kim is also the Supervisory Committee Chair for TwinStar Credit Union and takes an active role in events supporting the Little Red School House, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County, the Miss Thurston County Scholarship Program, the Well Read Well Fed Program, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Kim resides in Lacey with her husband John and their two children.  She enjoys activities such as running, kickboxing, weightlifting, music, reading, and spending time with her family.  She is training for her fourth half marathon race in San Francisco.  Professionally, Kim Wyman strives to continue the tradition of innovation and leadership, which has made the Thurston County Auditor's Office a nationally recognized leader in county government.

During Kim’s tenure, the Thurston County Auditor's Office has won four National Achievement Awards for significant innovations in county government as well as three Government Finance Officers Association Certificates of Achievement for excellence in financial reporting.  Kim was honored with the Norm Maleng Local Public Service Award in May 2009.  Kim served as a member of a national advisory panel for the Federal Election Commission in 2001.  She traveled to Russia as a member of an international election observation team in 1997.
