Welcome to Marsland Moths

In 2007 we moved to a house set in the middle of the Marsland valley (see the Location page), one mile from the Atlantic, on the North Cornwall and Devon county boundary.  It was the wildlife and landscape that drew us here and we immediately began recording the wildlife, in particular the moths, found in our garden.

The aims  - to assist in the recording of the area's macro and micro moths.  It is hoped this data will be useful to conservation groups such as the Devon Wildlife Trust who manage large parts of the valley, The National Trust who manage extensive areas of land including coastal paths locally, as well as the Devon Moth Group and Cornwall Moth Group who do so much to promote moth awareness.

Eventually we hope to be able to provide the Devon Wildlife Trust with a photographic record of all species to be found in the Marsland Nature Reserve.
