Majority of Canadians will become criminals if Harper gets a majority government: Harper must be defeated or Canada is lost

Adults in Canada believe the consumption of cannabis should be allowed in their country, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 53 per cent of respondents support the legalization of marijuana.”

So why are Harper’s Conservatives “embracing tough-on-crime policies even as the United States backs away from similar approaches that have produced record levels of incarceration, huge taxpayer costs and racialized prisons?”

Harper is adamant on introducing an American style “War on Drugs” policy in Canada. The Conservative government’s most recent attempt to implement this plan occurred earlier this year with the introduction of Bill C-26, which is a US inspired mandatory minimum prison sentence for the possession of marijuana or other ‘drugs’. “A person could be jailed for at least 6 months for the crime of growing as little as one marijuana plant if this legislation passes.”

Watch the following video if you want to know which Canadians Harper’s government wants to turn into criminals and put in jail.

While many countries upon analyzing the evidence for ending prohibition begin to lax their laws for possession, the governments of Canada and the United States are intensifying their war against cannabis.

In the United States, the most recent statistics are revealing that police are targeting and arresting minor marijuana offenders. Marijuana arrests in the US have topped previous records and are costing taxpayers billions of dollars per year. This brutal policy has created a prison population that is equivalent to being the 4th largest city in the United States.

This is what Harper wants to introduce in Canada. Can we afford this, financially or morally?

The most important thing to keep in mind is that those who consume cannabis are not criminals, even though our Conservative government would tell us otherwise. They are your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, and your children, and many have been sacrificed to further the agenda of certain individuals and organizations who feed off the profits from the criminalization of this simple plant that has the potential to save us and our environment.

The following three documentaries should be mandatory viewing for all Canadians who want to understand America's "War on Drugs" policy and what Harper is proposing. It is information that Harper, the government, and the prison industrial complex do not want us to know. Further information on cannabis at: Happy 420!

Canada, we better wake up and vote out Harper’s Conservative government on October 14, or Canada is lost.
