The Language of Mathematics (66): Torrents now available for Series I and Series II

Update 2: As of 10:30 Thursday, June 18, there are now at least 99 seeds for Series II, so things should be moving along a lot faster.

Update: Since this is the initial seed for the torrents it’s taking a while for them to be loaded. As of 6:30 AM Thursday, June 18, Series II is over 94% loaded by at least two dozen users – these are the peers I see: 28 of 196 connected (133 in swarm). Unfortunately, Series I for some reason is taking much longer, it is coming along though.

Also, Reddit user big_league_chewbacca was kind enough to rip the videos from YouTube and reformat them as mp4. This morning he posted a link to the torrent he created. It’s a much smaller file, 1.63 gigs for all the videos compared to my torrents which are 2.58 gigs for Series I and 1.84 gigs for Series II. This might be faster for those who are just starting the downloads, or for those that want to save some space. The torrent is available at www.demonoid.com

I’m working on the third series for The Language of Mathematics, so I figured it would be a good idea to finally put together torrents for Series I and II. This is the first time that I’m creating a torrent and as far as I can figure it out everything works, so please seed.

The videos are the same quality as the ones that have already been shared. As soon as I upgrade my hardware and software, figure out what I’m going to do about the music that I’ve sampled, finish a conversation that I‘ve started about the state of the world, and take care of a few other technicalities, higher resolution videos will be provided. Hopefully I will be able to time this with the release of a DVD in conjunction with going live with a website specifically dedicated to The Language of Mathematics.
