The Metropolitan Museum's collection includes more than 2 million works of art. Descriptions and images of more than 130,000 of these works are available online as part of the Collection Database. The database currently includes records
for the entire holdings of the Department of European Paintings, the Department of American Paintings and Sculpture,
the Photographs Department, and the Provenance Research Project, as well as highlights from each of the Museum's other
curatorial departments, the Museum's libraries, and the database of the Antonio Ratti Textile Center. Learn more about
