What a sweet, sweet man – RIP- I’ve been following his writings since the murder of his daughter. His show on cable remains one of my favorites. My prayers go out to his family

What a sad day for our country. Not only did Ted Kennedy lose his fight with cancer but Dominick Dunne passed away from cancer as well. Never knew either personally but was touched by what they did. Ted Kennedy embodied all that an American should aspire to be by his public service for half a century. Regarding Dominick’s passing, as a long-time subscriber to Vanity Fair, the most enjoyable part of each issue was reading, no savoring, his diary. He told a story like no other and I just wanted to hang with him one day to experience even for a brief moment, what his life was like. Vanity Fair won’t be the same without Dominick and our country won’t be the same without Teddy.

Absolutely loved his novels. He was a perfect writer for that genre of upper-class society and their lives. Felt he wemt a little off the rails during the O.J. years but nonetheless I really treasure his books. Thank you, Mr. Dunne.

Having worked with him at VF I can say he was everything we saw through his column. A great and wonderful man!

My daughter and I watched “Power, Privilege, and Justice” whenever it was on. Mr. Dunne was one of my favorite reporters, and a fine author. His contributions will not be forgotten, and he will be missed. My sympathies to his loved ones.

Ever since I read “The Two Mrs. Greenvilles”, I was hooked. And I can not count the number of “Power, Privilege and Justice” marathons I have watched. I will miss his work. I hope he finds peace with his beloved daughter as well and that his family can grieve in peace. RIP, Mr. Dunne.

Mr. Dunne was one of my favorite authors and people. I have collected every book of his, subscribed to VF since he was their reporter, and was devoted even to his TV show. I always found him to be an inspiration for starting his writing later in life and changing his prioirties but not his loyalty to his friends or devotion to those he loved and to justice. My heartfelt sympathies to his family on this real loss of such a special, strong person.

Great writer; great chronicler of the times we live(d) in; and great glasses. I’ve missed his columns in VF and was not aware he was suffering from bladder cancer, though was aware that several years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Thanks for all the championing over many years to help ensure the rich didn’t literally get away with murder, Mr Dunne. Rest in peace.

this is such sad news. what a wonderful artist and human being has been taken from us.as a journalist covering some of the same trials, i met Mr. Dunne numerous times, and always found him gracious to his peers, a great writer, and a tremendous advocate for victims’ rights. RIP sweet Dominick, our prayers go out to your family. We have a treasure trove of his work to remind us of his talent.
