Filming of Antique Roadshow

St George's Hall is a great location for both film and TV and is perfect for both period and present day productions.

We facilitate live event-based TV productions such as Flog It, Antiques Road Show and Most Haunted Live, as well as feature films and commercials.

Major films which have featured the Hall include 'Let Him Have It' (1991) starring Eileen Atkins, Tom Courtenay and Christopher Eccleston, and 'In the Name of the Father' (1993), starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Emma Thompson.

More recently it has featured in the dramas The Outsiders, Longford, Dead Clever and Casanova.

In early 2009 Sam Taylor-Wood, director of Nowhere Boy, made repeat visits to Liverpool over a five-month period to research potential locations.

She said she was so moved by the splendour of St George's Hall she felt obliged to have it written into the script.  She said: "When I saw the front of the building, I just thought I've got to film there, it's so spectacular."
