One of most talented Latvian players ever, Skele can do everything and regularly collects good numbers in a few statistical categories. The second best scorer at the U18 European Championship Men in 2000 Skele early moved from Latvia first to Poland, and then to Belgium where he established himself as a European top level player. Three years ago Armands went back to Riga and became a real leader of the Barons/LMT team. His brilliant performance was one of most important weapon for his team's victory in the EuroCup in 2008 (14.1 ppg) and in the Latvian Championship. However last season was not so impressive because of some injuries and motivation problems. Now Skele is looking for new challenges - including at the national team level. |
