Amelle Berrabah quits Sugababes after 'big bust-up'

SUGABABE Amelle Berrabah last night quit the charttopping girlband after a huge row.

The 25-year-old singer reportedly made her shock decision following a bust-up with founder member Keisha Buchanan.

Amelle was said to have "gone missing" for days following the argument.

But Keisha and fellow remaining Sugababe Heidi Range have already moved to add a third member in Amelle's place.

The all-girl group, who have topped the charts six times, were last night said to have recruited former UK Eurovision entrant Jade Ewen as their newest member.

The band's spokeswoman would not comment on reports about the personnel changes when the Razz contacted her last night.

The Round Round hit-makers have been dogged by volatile in-band relationships even as their music sold millions.

Siobhan Donaghy - the first person to leave the band in 2001 - said in a recent interview: "There was no doubt that I was pushed out."

The group were formed in 1998 with members Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena joining Donaghy.

Following the departure of Donaghy, Heidi Range joined the group in 2001.

With Heidi on board, the Sugababes then hit the big time with the massive success of the single Freak Like Me.

That chart smash was taken from their 2002 album Angels with Dirty Faces, which was also a huge commercial success.

The band survived a second line-up change with Berrabah replacing Buena when she left in 2005, and their chart success continued from then onwards.

But Berrabah's departure is the latest shock for the group's legion of devoted fans.

The Sugababes - known for a string of raunchy videos - first charted in 2000 with No.6 hit Overload.

They are currently at No.8 in the UK charts with the single Get Sexy.
