HALTICOSAURUS

(nimble reptile)
Halticosaurus liliensterni (von Huene, 1934) is synonymous with Liliensternus liliensterni. H. longotarsus (von Huene, 1908) is a nomen dubium . It is known from a mandibular fragment, vertebra e, humerus , ilium , femur and metatarsal found in late Triassic (Norian) Germany and was originally classified as a coelurosaur or ceratosaur of about 3 - 6 m (10 - 20 ft) in length. H. orbitoangulatus (von Huene, 1932) is probably a theropod and should be renamed. Some workers consider Halticosaurus as a valid genus in its own right.
