Weekly Summary of Roadworks in M25 Sphere - 30/09/2009

A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel
Work to refurbish the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel continues this week. The second phase of the two-year refurbishment started in July. During this stage, which is expected to be completed in May 2010, the northbound tunnel will be closed and a two lane contra-flow with narrow lanes with a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day will operate on the southbound carriageway. Drivers should expect moderate delays during this phase. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Junction 16 to Junction 18
Work to widen this section of the M25 to four lanes in each direction continues this week. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place between junctions 16 and 18 that will operate 24 hours a day until May 2010. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Junction 27-30
Work to widen M25 between junctions 27 and 28 to four lanes is taking place, with three narrow lanes in each direction available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed limit is in place. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Bell Common Tunnel (Junctions 26 to 27) Work to refurbish Bell Common Tunnel between junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 started in October 2008, and is expected to be complete in March 2010. There are 3 narrow lanes in operation with a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day. There will also be overnight additional lane closures, and hard shoulder closures. A free recovery service is in place.

A3/A309 Hook Interchange
Major maintenance work on the A3 Esher Bypass between Clayton Bridge and the TfL boundary near Hook Interchange continue this week with completion due November 2009. There will be 24 hour working, with off peak lane closures and some overnight carriageway and slip road closures. There will be a temporary 40mph speed limit in force throughout the work. Slight delays are expected.
M1 Junction 2 Exit Slip

The Southbound Exit slip at Junction 2 of the M1 will be closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 5.00 am for one night from Wednesday 30 September 09 until Thursday 1 October 09. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M23 Junction 8 Link Roads
Both link roads from M25 anticlockwise to the M23 both carriageways will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 5.30am from Thursday 01 October 09 until Saturday 03 October 09 for white lining works. A diversion will be fully signposted

M25 junction 17 Exit and Entry Slip
Both the Exit and Entry slip roads of the M25 junction 17 will closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 05.00 am for two nights from Monday 28 September 09 until Wednesday 30 September 09. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 18 Exit Slip
The clockwise exit slip road at junction 18 will be closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 05.00 am for two nights from Monday 28 September 09 until Wednesday 30 September 09. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M11 Southbound Link to M25 Anticlockwise Carriageway The M11 southbound link road to M25 anticlockwise carriageway will be closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 05.00 am for one night from Tuesday 29 September 09 until Wednesday 30 September 09 for improvements. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 7 Link road to M23 Southbound The southbound link road from the M25 junction 7 to the M23 will closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 05.00 am for one night from Monday 5 October 09 until Tuesday 6 October 09 for communication works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M40 Eastbound to M25 Clockwise Link
The M40 eastbound link to M25 clockwise link will be closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 05.00 am for two nights from Tuesday 6 October 09 until Thursday 8 October 09 for structural work. A diversion will be fully signposted.
