Eduardo Verástegui

Eduardo VerasteguiEduardo Verástegui (born as José Eduardo Verástegui Córdoba on May 21, 1974) is a Mexican actor.
Born in Xicotencatl, Tamaulipas, México, Verástegui decided to pursue modeling in Mexico City. Soon after, in 1994, he became a member of the Mexican pop group, Kairo.
In 1997, Verástegui began acting in Mexican soap operas produced by Televisa.
In 2001, Verástegui signed a recording contract as a solo artist with Universal Music Latino and recorded his first self-titled album. Two years later, in 2003, Eduardo Verástegui was chosen as the lead character in the Latin comedy Chasing Papi, alongside Jaci Velasquez, Sofia Vergara, and Roselyn Sanchez. The film grossed $12 million worldwide.
According to his web site, Eduardo will portray Peter in the movie about Jesus and his Apostles in the 2010 film Kingdom Come, which commences shooting in New Zealand in February. Details are still forthcoming.
Verástegui publicly supported Proposition 8 eduardo_verastegui_shirtless(banning gay marriage) and Proposition 4 (adult notification for an abortion performed on an underage girl), by targeting Spanish speaking voters through videos.
Verástegui is a devout Roman Catholic and says he attends Mass every day. In September 2008, he made a video urging Hispanic voters in the United States to reject Barack Obama because of Obama’s pro-choice views.
In December 2008 he made a pro-life video in Spanish, urging Latinos to remember that the right to life is paramount.
