Christopher Walken

Christopher WalkenChristopher Walken (born March 31, 1943) is an American actor whose stage and screen career spans more than 50 years. He has appeared in more than 100 movies and television shows, including A View to a Kill, At Close Range, The Deer Hunter, King of New York, Batman Returns, True Romance, Catch Me If You Can , Wayne’s World 2 and Pulp Fiction, as well as music videos by recording artists such as Madonna and Fatboy Slim.
Walken’s films have have grossed more than $1.8 billion in the United States. He has also played the main role in the Shakespeare plays Hamlet, Christopher WalkenMacbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Coriolanus. Among his film roles were Nikanor “Nick” Chevotarevich in The Deer Hunter (where he won an Academy Award) and Captain Koons, a Vietnam War veteran, in Pulp Fiction. He has several times guest-hosted Saturday Night Live, his most notable role being Bruce Dickinson in the “More Cowbell” sketch.
Walken debuted as a film director and script writer with the short (five-minute) film Popcorn Shrimp in 2001. He also wrote and acted the main role in a play about Elvis Christopher WalkenPresley titled Him in 1995.
Walken has been married to Georgianne Walken (née Thon) since 1969; she is a casting director, most notably for The Sopranos. They live in rural Connecticut and have no children. In regard to his villainous roles preceding him when meeting new people, Walken says, “When they see me in a movie, they expect me to be something nasty … That’s why it’s good to defy expectations sometimes.”
Walken prefers not to discuss his personal life in public.
