The Kennebunkport Reality Check:
The Danger of World War III is the Much Neglected Heart of the Matter

Most of the comments concerning the Kennebunkport Warning have avoided the main issue. The central point has nothing to do with any signatures or absence thereof. The key issue is whether the world strategic picture given by the Kennebunkport Warning is accurate or not. If the statement is true, as we firmly assert that it is, then the other issues can be seen in proper perspective, meaning that they are dwarfed by the threat of a world catastrophe.

Tarpley offers some evidence that led to the formulation of the Kennebunkport Warning, and will be dedicating his Thursday, August 30 GCN program, broadcast from 7-9pm Central on Network 4, to discussing "the evidence for the coming Bush-Cheney aggression against Iran, to be predicated on a new 9/11 and/or a new Gulf of Tonkin provocation."

Several readers of the Kennebunkport Warning have requested documentation on the evidence referred to in that document. I am enclosing my July 21, 2007 summary entitled "Cheney Determined to Strike in US with WMD this Summer," plus a portfolio of selected news stories covering July and August of 2007. (both items attached below) I have also included an early description of the Cheney doctrine by Philip Giraldi from August, 2005. This evidence could be supplemented, but it is already conclusive.

It would be foolhardy in the extreme for serious antiwar activists to ignore the grave danger of an upcoming attack on Iran, predicated on a new 9/11 and/or a new Gulf of Tonkin. I send this out in the hopes that it will promote a a vigorous open debate on these matters as we approach the sixth anniversary of 9/11.

A well-known Democratic member of the House of Representatives has repeatedly told individual supporters that the top leadership of the Democratic Party has explicitly approved an attack on Iran. Mrs. Clinton is openly offering herself as the politician best qualified to take over in the wake of such an event. It is therefore the task of genuine antiwar activists, together with institutional forces within the government and the military, plus certain international factions, to ward off this looming catastrophe.

The first hour of the program consists of a wide-ranging discussion with Tarpley on False Flag terror, Cheney's backers, and action on 9/11/07 taking place in NYC and Washington, DC. Some good discussion on Tarpley's latest article, which has been picked up by literally thousands of websites.

A major coup for 9/11 skeptics, this was broadcast in a prime afternoon slot, not shuffled off to a dismal hour late at night, or tucked away for a weekend broadcast. The Left-leaning daily listeners of WBAI were introduced to False Flag terror on the grand scale, with very useful, non-confrontational questions from guest host Kathy Davis. During the broadcast WBAI played two actindependent radio spots, including the new one, which is very powerful. During the second hour Les Jamieson was invited on to speak of the NY ballot initiative.

A few days ago, a group of lawyers from western Massachusetts met with the local congressman, Democrat John Olver. Their request was that Olver take part in the urgent effort to impeach Bush and Cheney. Olver responded by saying that he had no intention of doing anything to support impeachment. He went further, offering the information that the United States would soon attack Iran, and that these hostilities would be followed by the imposition of a martial law regime here.

According to reports in the British press, the Cheney war party has gained the upper hand in the secret councils of the Bush White House, pushing aside the purported hesitations of Miss Rice, Secretary Gates, and the NATO allies to chart a direct course towards war with Iran:

‘The balance in the internal White House debate over Iran has shifted back in favour of military action before President George Bush leaves office in 18 months, the Guardian has learned. The shift follows an internal review involving the White House, the Pentagon and the state department over the last month. Although the Bush administration is in deep trouble over Iraq, it remains focused on Iran. A well-placed source in Washington said: "Bush is not going to leave office with Iran still in limbo." …at a meeting of the White House, Pentagon and state department last month, Mr Cheney expressed frustration at the lack of progress and Mr Bush sided with him. "The balance has tilted. We meet in response to a grave political crisis. We see before us a society careening towards disaster. The Republican presidential candidates eagerly debate the use of tactical nuclear weapons against Iran – a sure path to World War III – while Giuliani preens himself as a future dictator, and Mrs. Clinton can hardly conceal her enthusiasm for the coming attacks on Iran and Sudan. But the American people deserve something better than a choice between competing Republican and Democratic warmonger elitist cliques.

(Tarpley issued this call to action today, informed by Brzezinski's warning to the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee on February 1st. Brzezinski's warning follows Congressman Ron Paul's warning on January 11 that "a contrived Gulf of Tonkin type incident may well occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran." Now, even Bush's former National Security Council Director for Iranian and Persian Gulf Affairs from 2001 to 2004, Hillary Mann, has joined the pretext-warning club, saying that "they're trying to push a provocative accidental conflict. They're pushing a series of increasing provocations against the Iranians in, I think, anticipation that Iran will eventually retaliate".)

The Cheney faction is steadily moving towards a nuclear sneak attack on Iran. All military assets necessary for this catastrophic war crime will shortly be in place, and all signs point towards an attack in February or March – in particular, beware the Ides of March. Zbigniew Brzezinski, former NSC Director in the Carter administration, delivered this warning to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Feb. 1:

“If the United States continues to be bogged down in a protracted bloody involvement in Iraq, the final destination on this downhill track is likely to be a head-on conflict with Iran and with much of the world of Islam at large. A plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran involves Iraqi failure to meet the benchmarks; followed by accusations of Iranian responsibility for the failure; then by some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the U.S. blamed on Iran; culminating in a "defensive" U.S. military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.”
