On the June 6th – 7th, 2003 in Budapest (Hungary) is taking place a conference "EUROCONSTRUCT", organized by firm "Build&Econ; Hungary". In January President of Ukraine, Mr. L. Kuchma signed the Law "On Priority Directions of Innovation Activity in Ukraine".
This Law determines juridical, economical and organizational issues of forming and realization of ptiority directions of innovation activity in Ukraine. The ultimate aim of the Law is to create legal base for concentration of country's resources on advanced directions of scientific and technical renewal of production and services, providing home market with competitive science intensive products and entering world markets.
Directions of innovation activity in Ukraine, determined by this Law, oblige executive power bodies of all levels to create conditions of sistance to relevant priority directions, and concentraton of financial resources. 14.03.03
On February 6th, 2003 Supreme Council of Ukraine passed a project of the Law "On the Cahnges to the Law On Distribution of України "On Distribution of Copies of Audiovisual Works and Phonograms", which allowes to extend range of copywrighters of audiovisual wares and phonograms, by including software, videograms, tada bases, and to secure consumers from piratic production by marking control tape of licensed prodution with information which identifies it with the relative copy of audiovisual work, phonogram, videogram, software or database. Passing this Law will contribute to strengthening intellectual property rights protection, perfection of the control system of distribution of infringing merchandise, strengthening counteraction to piracy, creation of civilised intellectual property market in Ukraine and increasing budget entries by legalization of this kind of business activity. 14.03.03
