Janfest is undoubtedly one of the most awaited Indian Classical Music Festivals in India. Inaugurated in 1974, Janfest has showcased the best talent that the Indian Classical Music circle has to offer ever since.

Starting off with an audience of a mere 300 people in the St. Xavier's College Hall, Janfest has metamorphosed into a magnum opus over the years with audiences of over 2000 avid listeners.

It has played host to the maestros of Indian Classical Music like Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, Pt.Shivkumar Sharma, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Late M.S. Subbulakshmi, U.Srinivasan, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Pt.Jasraj and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. Ravi Shankar to name a few.

In keeping with the objective of the IMG of promoting Classical Music among the youth, Janfest also gives a platform to young talent who show potential.

With each passing year, music lovers both veterans and amateurs alike, look forward to Janfest that is also probably one of the very few festivals in the city that has been hosting an early Morning Concert.

With the first quadrangle of the St. Xavier's College at its venue, accompanied by the chilly January breeze, Janfest promises an experience of a lifetime.
