Welcome to RonDom and the Dom Tower

Being 112 m and 32 cm (369 ft) in height, the Dom Tower is the tallest church tower in the Netherlands. The highest viewpoint is at 95 m (312 ft). From this platform you have a magnificent panoramic view of the city of Utrecht and its surroundings. During the climb the guide will pause at various levels in the tower for a brief explanation of the tower’s history.
You are only allowed to climb the Dom Tower under the supervision of a guide. The guided tour of the Dom Tower will commence inside the Tourist Information Office (VVV) at the Domplein 9-10. Entrance tickets to the tower are sold inside the Tourist Information Office by RonDom. Guided tours will be conducted in both Dutch and English if necessary. Ask for extra information sheets at our desk. We have sheets available in: German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, Hungarian, and Japanese.

Entrance fees 2009 (individual)

Private tours (also possible outside regular hours) from € 210,-.
The Dom Tower can also host meetings, presentations, concerts, receptions, dinners or a wedding ceremony. Please contact us for more information about the different possibilities.

House rules:
- Bags are to be left behind in our designated lockers. You are allowed to bring a camera.
- There is no elevator
- You are not allowed to smoke, eat or drink inside the tower.
- It is strictly forbidden to throw anything down from the tower.
- It is compulsory to remain with your group and to follow the instructions of the guide.
- It is not possible to leave the tower before the end of the tour.
- Adult supervision is mandatory for children under 16.


Directions to RonDom and the Tower

Public transportation
The Dom square (‘Domplein’) is at 15 minutes walking distance from Utrecht Central Station. Leave the Station Hall via ‘Hoog Catharijne’ mall, towards the centre of the city. Keep to the right (towards the ‘Godebaldkwartier’). Down the escalators, you turn left, and cross the Catharijnesingel (a major traffic vein). Go straight ahead entering the city centre and past 200 metres you follow the road to the right (go past the Mariastraat on your left) and you will reach the Mariaplaats (a square). Turn left into the Zadelstraat. Right in front of you you will see the Dom Tower. You can also opt to take bus number 2, Ringlijn Museumkwartier, entering at the bus platform for city-busses at the Central Station. Leave at stop ‘Domplein’.

By car:
The nearest parking garage is located a 5 minute walk from the Tower. It is called parking garage Springweg (Address: Strosteeg 83). From the parking garage, take exit ‘Oudegracht’ (staircase at the backside, entering a lane). At the Oudegracht, turn left, passing the shopping street (Lijnmarkt). Take the first street on the right and you will see the Dom Tower!
