Journal lists

The ERA initiative will use a range of indicators and other proxies to support the evaluation of research excellence. One of these indicators is discipline-specific tiered outlet rankings.
The ARC continues to consult with the sector to finalise the ranked journal list for the 2010 implementation of ERA.

As a part of this finalisation process, the ARC is working with a number of peak bodies and societies. If you are the President or other authorised representative of a discipline peak body that would like to be involved in the review process, please email era@arc.gov.au with your details and we will be in touch with you shortly.

The ARC is also working directly with discipline experts to finalise the journal list.

To assist the sector identify journals missing from the list, the ARC has released the full journal list with journal titles and ISSNs only.

Please note that the current 15 October 2009 release is the last title list to be released by the ARC.

Please submit all feedback to the current journal title list by Monday 2 November 2009.

Although the process to finalise the journal list for the 2010 full implementation of ERA is underway, the ERA PCE and HCA journal lists for the 2009 Trial of ERA are still available. The PCE journal list identifies the journals that are indexed by Scopus, and therefore subject to citation analysis under ERA. The list includes a ‘date indexed’ column. The HCA Cluster will not use citation analysis, and therefore does not contain information regarding indexing.

Conference lists

For some disciplines, ranked conferences will be used as an indicator.

The final list of disciplines using ranked conferences as an indicator will be released following a sector-wide consultation process. At this stage, those disciplines are likely to include Information and Computing Sciences, Built Environment and Design, and some Engineering disciplines.

If you would like to comment on the development of ranked conference lists, please liaise directly with the relevant peak body.
