Abbot Ale and Abbot Reserve contain malted barley. Neither of these beers contain wheat in the recipe however some beers brewed in the same brewery have a proportion of wheat between 5 and 12% of the recipe.

Glutens are present in both Abbot Ale and Abbot Reserve however our bottled versions of these beers have been filtered to minimise the level of soluble protein and to remove suspended particles and therefore typically contain less than 5mg per litre gluten.

Red Tractor Award

Abbot Ale now carries a Red Tractor badge. This means that you can be sure, local ingredients have been used to craft this complex and distinctive beer. The term ‘local’ really means local, the barley maltings can be seen from the top of the Greene King brewery. So, you’re not only enjoying a great beer but also doing your bit to support English farmers.
