'Kutty' Radhika begins innings

With tear-jerkers like 'Thavarige Ba Thangi' in Kannada, 'Kutty' Radhika charmed the Kannada audience. Not surprisingly, Tamil film-makers made a beeline to her door and the first to sign her was producer Kumar and director Jananathan for their 'Iyarkkai'. The film would have been a Deepavali release but it got postponed due to unavoidable reasons. But the film is to hit the theaters in the second week of November. Radhika, meanwhile, has been getting some good offers. So impressed were those who've seen her performance in her debut.

And with new heroes cropping up and delivering at the box -office, Vijay is taking more care to see that he gets good subjects. There is 'Gilli', which should be his next release, and the actor is taking all care to see that the film, with its blend of action and sentiment, would satisfy his fans. For, what Vijay needs desperately is a hit this time!

Rathi plays coy

The audience were in for a surprise as they were viewing the Deepavali release 'Anjaneya'. For, it had an 'item' number by none other than the coy, demure 'Kummalam' Rathi. But bad luck for the audience who are used to seeing some sizzling 'item' numbers by the likes of Simran, Kiran or Ramya Krishnan. For Rathi remained demure and coy throughout the dance, refusing to reveal or even sizzle the screen with her movements!

Gayatri to act with Dhanush

She has the looks and the talent but she is not exactly flooded with offers. After having acted in nine films, including the ones in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, Gayatri Raghuram has yet to get recognition. But the unfazed actress maintains that she's never chased roles and that she's always been selective about films. But there are two films the actress is excited about. One is a film Kamal Haasan will be producing in the near future. And the other is the one for Lakshmi Movie Makers, to be directed by Selvaraghavan, with Dhanush in the male lead.

'Thiruda Thirudi' goes Telugu. The Dhanush-Chaya Singh superhit film has been bought by producer Ashok Kumar. The banner has earlier remade Tamil films like 'Poove Unakkaga' and 'Priyamana Thozhi' in Telugu with great success. Whether 'Thiruda Thirudi' repeats the success in its Telugu version too, one has to wait and watch.
