ScriptResourceAttribute Class

Defines a resource in an assembly to be used from a client script file. This class cannot be inherited.

Syntax

CSharp

[AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Assembly, AllowMultiple = true)]
[AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction.LinkDemand, Level = AspNetHostingPermissionLevel.Minimal)]
public sealed class ScriptResourceAttribute : Attribute

VisualBasic

<AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Assembly, AllowMultiple := True)> _
<AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction.LinkDemand, Level := AspNetHostingPermissionLevel.Minimal)> _
Public NotInheritable Class ScriptResourceAttribute _
	Inherits Attribute

ManagedCPlusPlus

[AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets::Assembly, AllowMultiple = true)]
[AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction::LinkDemand, Level = AspNetHostingPermissionLevel::Minimal)]
public ref class ScriptResourceAttribute sealed : public Attribute

JSharp

/** @attribute AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Assembly, AllowMultiple = true) */
/** @attribute AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction.LinkDemand, Level = AspNetHostingPermissionLevel.Minimal) */
public final class ScriptResourceAttribute extends Attribute

Members

IconMemberDescription
ScriptResourceAttributeNew(String, String, String)Initializes a new instance of the ScriptResourceAttribute class.
Equals(Object)Returns a value that indicates whether this instance is equal to a specified object. (Inherited from Attribute.)
Finalize()Allows an Object to attempt to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before the Object is reclaimed by garbage collection. (Inherited from Object.)
GetHashCode()Returns the hash code for this instance. (Inherited from Attribute.)
GetType()Gets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
IsDefaultAttribute()When overridden in a derived class, indicates whether the value of this instance is the default value for the derived class. (Inherited from Attribute.)
Match(Object)When overridden in a derived class, returns a value that indicates whether this instance equals a specified object. (Inherited from Attribute.)
MemberwiseClone()Creates a shallow copy of the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
ScriptNameGets the name of the script library.
ScriptResourceNameGets the name of the resource file for the script library.
ToString()Returns a String that represents the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
TypeIdWhen implemented in a derived class, gets a unique identifier for this Attribute. (Inherited from Attribute.)
TypeNameGets the name that is used when retrieving the values in the resource file.

Remarks

The ScriptResourceAttribute class is valid only when you use it in assembly declarations. You use it to enable a specified embedded script resource in an assembly. You can define the name of the embedded script library, the name of the resource file for the script library, and the name that is used in a script file for retrieving the resource values. The ScriptManager class uses the properties in ScriptResourceAttribute to determine the correct resource name for a script library. The TypeName property is used with a resource key to specify a resource.

Examples

The following example shows a ScriptResourceAttribute attribute for a script file named CheckAnswer.js that uses resources from the VerificationResources resource files. The name Answer is used to reference these resources.

cs

[assembly: System.Web.UI.WebResource("LocalizingScriptResources.CheckAnswer.js", "application/x-javascript")]
[assembly: System.Web.UI.ScriptResource("LocalizingScriptResources.CheckAnswer.js", "LocalizingScriptResources.VerificationResources", "Answer")]

vb

<Assembly: System.Web.UI.WebResource("LocalizingScriptResources.CheckAnswer.js", "application/x-javascript")>
<Assembly: System.Web.UI.ScriptResource("LocalizingScriptResources.CheckAnswer.js", "LocalizingScriptResources.VerificationResources", "Answer")>

The following example shows how to use the resources in client script. The resource keys (Correct and Incorrect) are prefixed with Answer to identify the script resource definition that contains the values.

cs

function CheckAnswer()
{
    var firstInt = $get('firstNumber').innerText;
    var secondInt = $get('secondNumber').innerText;
    var userAnswer = $get('userAnswer');

    if ((Number.parseLocale(firstInt) + Number.parseLocale(secondInt)) == userAnswer.value)
    {
        alert(Answer.Correct);
        return true;
    }
    else
    {
        alert(Answer.Incorrect);
        return false;
    }
}

vb

function CheckAnswer()
{
    var firstInt = $get('firstNumber').innerText;
    var secondInt = $get('secondNumber').innerText;
    var userAnswer = $get('userAnswer');

    if ((Number.parseLocale(firstInt) + Number.parseLocale(secondInt)) == userAnswer.value)
    {
        alert(Answer.Correct);
        return true;
    }
    else
    {
        alert(Answer.Incorrect);
        return false;
    }
}
