In 2006, after much anticipation, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds – Alive On Stage! was brought to life for the first time, playing to sold-out arenas across the UK -- and is a spectacular mix of live music, theatre, multi-media and visual arts on a grand scale.

The musical was inspired by H.G. Wells’s classic science fiction story, The War of The Worlds (published in 1898), the first modern tale of an alien invasion -- with the whole of human civilization under threat from the powerful Martians. The DVD combines the brilliance of the original performers including Jeff Wayne, Justin Hayward, Chris Thompson and even the late Richard Burton (‘In Sight and Sound’) along with a brand new cast, the 10-piece Black Smoke Band, the 48-piece Strings, 100 feet of screens showing cutting edge CGI-animation and an unforgettable fully operating 35ft Martian Fighting Machine, which fires Heat Rays at the audience and scans them with its bug-like eyes!
